The Canadian Centre for Agricultural Wellbeing (CCAW) launched the National Farmer Wellness Network (NFWN) Crisis Line, as of February 4, 2025. This service provides 24/7 crisis support for farmers, farm workers, and their families across Canada, in both English and French.
The creation of this new service does not impact the existing Farmer Wellness Initiative, and operations are as normal. We encourage Ontario-based farmers to access the Farmer Wellness Initiative (FWI) directly at 1-866-267-6255, as this remains the most comprehensive and efficient support option available in the province.
The Farmer Wellness Initiative continues to offer:
- Unlimited free counselling and crisis support for Ontario farmers, farm workers, and their families
- Support available in English, French, and Spanish
- Access to ongoing non-crisis counselling, which is not available through the national line
The new National Farmer Crisis Line is operated by Telus Health, the same provider as FWI, and will offer one-time crisis support. If Ontario callers access the national line, we understand they will be redirected to FWI.
